Van Tyres usage increases – whilst company car consumption declines

In a recently published report by Kwik Fit, their has been a significant shift in fleet tyre consumption trends as vehicle usage changes.

The organisation says that light commercial vehicle tyre consumption is growing at an alarming rate and has been doing so for a number of years and vans that joined in the UK fleet.  They believe this is particularly down to the rise in home deliveries (shopping online) and as a consequence of the recent internet shopping boom seen across the country.

However, even though this has been reported, the trend is also being driven forward by the fact that there is an ever-increasing focus by van operators on at-work driving safety as well as fleets downsizing to vans which have previously operated larger vehicles which have generally turned to leasing vehicles.

In summary therefore, car tyre manufacturers will have to ensure that they adapt to this marketplace trend.
